The „start-up relief” is an exemption from paying social security contributions (pension, disability, accident) for the first 6 full months of running a business. Registration as an active VAT payer is mandatory if you plan to provide services or sell goods subject to VAT and are not using an exemption (e.g., the subjective exemption up to a limit of PLN 200,000 of annual turnover, or an objective exemption).
